What we collect
When you use Carve without an account, your structured working CV and design settings are stored in your browser's localStorage. They are not saved to your Carve account.
When you choose an AI feature, the content needed for that request is transmitted through Carve's server to the configured AI provider. This includes CV text for extraction and relevant CV or job-description content for rewriting, ATS analysis, personalization, profiles, or cover letters.
When you sign in with Google, we store: your email address, name, and profile picture (from Google OAuth). Your CV data is stored encrypted in your personal Carve Vault on Supabase.
For Carve Memory, we may store compact career evidence such as a target role, company, skill theme, career preference, or user-provided achievement. This evidence system does not store full chat transcripts or full generated cover letters.
AI processing
Carve currently uses Anthropic Claude for AI processing. Contact details are removed before non-extraction AI calls where the feature permits it. Extraction requires the original text to identify and structure the CV accurately.
AI requests and responses may pass through application logs and provider systems for security, reliability, and abuse prevention according to their configured retention policies.
Analytics
We use minimal analytics to understand usage patterns. We do not use third-party trackers, advertising pixels, or sell data to advertisers.
Data retention
Browser data (localStorage) persists until you clear it. Vault data persists until you delete your account. We do not retain deleted data.
Your rights
You can export all your data at any time (PDF, JSON, Markdown). You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us. We comply with applicable data protection laws.
